  • Civil parking charge notice.

    Evening folks newbie here😳

My wife recieved a civil parking notice today, stating she over stayed the time at a Lidls car park in Penicuik, Scotland. She was attenting an appointment at the Doctors although she did nip into Lidls afterwards and bought a couple of things. We have got the receipt!!!

    Incident date:- 9/3/17
    Issue date:- 13/3/17
Parking charge :- £90 or £45 discount if paid within 14 days.
    Allowed stay:- 1hr 30mins
    Actual stay :-1hr 52 mins
The letter also has images of the vehicle entering and leaving the car park,
PCN issued by Athena ANPR Ltd

Just wondering whats the best course of action for this as although my wife did get a couple of items, you could argue the fact it wasnt 1hr 52 mins of shopping.
Do i just ignore as i was under the impression the companys cant enforce these charges as they are not police or council issues.

    Thanks guys.

When it comes to Scotland they cannot go after the registered keeper and there is no keeper liability. You could go in to the store and see if they can get it cancelled to save waiting 5 years for it to time out.

DO NOT SHRED ANYTHING! Save all paperwork in cases such as this as you may have to refer to it again in the future.
