  • Can management companies provide legal advice?

    Good afternoon

Can a management company for a property development offer residents legal advice? There is a director of the company saying he has over 30 years experience in the legal professional but falls short of saying what this experience is. He also says he is a legal advisor to the company.

We cannot find him listed on any register. He has been offering incorrect legal advice, causing residents to act upon it and later residents are finding out it's incorrect, putting them in breach of their leases and then his company are charging people for the breach.

If that said director is also a resident of the development and isn't complying to the lease but won't comply even after complaints from residents what can be done about it? The director must be answerable to someone.

    Thanks
