  • Court claim paperwork just received

    Hello

This morning I received court claim paperwork relating to a local college.

I started four A-levels at the college in September 2015, self funding, but only managed a couple of months of study before I needed to withdraw for various reasons (work, caring for a disabled adult and poor teaching amongst other things). I spoke with a college administrator in person about this who took my contact details and said she'd get back to me but never did. I emailed my tutors about it several times (they'd responded to emails up until this point) and called the college about it to be told someone would get back to me. They didn't.

I received one letter from the college and one letter from their debt collection agency in December 2015. I replied via recorded delivery asking them to substantiate their claim and didn't receive a reply, even though the letter was signed for.

What is the best thing to do from here?
