  • Smart parking perth scotland

Hi there. Needing some advice re parking fine for smart parking perth scotland. The signs in the car park say you can pay when your stay is over and leaving the park. The instructions were not clear what to do on our return but we finally managed to pay the fee of 120mins. I have two babies in a buggy and the car park doesnt not have a lift facility for disabled or people with buggies from ground floor upwards you have to clamber up a flight of stairs in order to get the lift to the higher levels. By the time we got to the car and strapped our babies into car seats and put the buggy away we were 14 mins ober oir time.
We received a letter last week stating we were being issued a parking fine for overstaying 14 mins. We sent a letter back with a copy of the parking ticket to explain this and today we got a reply back saying basically tough you still need to pay this. How do we stand legally about paying this.

    Thanks

    Kev

If they don't know who was driving ignore all bar court papers.

If they do know i'd still ignore as 1. Smart haven't done court as yet and 2. Legally the signs must be clear etc to create a contract. They should also make adjustments for disabilities etc. so they may have issues anyway.
