  • Fair wear and tear charges after VT

Hi, i VT on my HP agreement with close brothers motor finance at the begining of november 2016. They are now trying to chase me for monies relating to the wear and tear of the car (£511). They are saying it was out of the wear and tear guidelines of BVRLA which the auction house goes by? The car was 7 years old and mechanically sound it had a couple of scratches etc on it but nothing i deemed unreasonable. My cotract states the car should be given back in reasonable condition with no mention of these guidelines. I also thought that these guidelines only applied to lease and company cara? Some advice would be greatly appreciated

Have a look at this part of the website. I'm currently just started the VT process and came across this, gave me some relief to know there isn't a lot they can actually do.
