  • HELP! Court clain form received from Moriaty Law

Good morning. I have received a court claim form in the post this morning. The Claimant is Merligen Investments limited (although the address stated for sending documents and payments is to a Moriarty Law of London).
The matter relates to a PPI refund dealt with by Belmont Thornton back in 2011. I have had two PPI refunds in the past, one from Lloyds and one from my previous mortgage company. My issue is this:
My two PPI refunds were dealt with by two separate PPI refund brokers. I cannot remember who dealt with what. Also, I do seem to remember that the refund cheques were sent directly to the brokers of which surely they would have sent me my cheques minus their fees? Because it was some time ago I am not 100% certain of this but at this stage I am confident that was the case.
What can I do about this? Obviously I am in shock that I have received a court claim form and wonder if you could advise me on the best way forward? The amount being claimed is £263.99 which comprises of £188.99 plus £25 court fee plus £50 local representatives costs.
    Thank you for your help.
