I too have a letter regarding Lowell..except it was hand delivered by a bailiff :/ I have no idea what its for but it amounts to £179.25...its a photo copy of a letter with my details filled in with red pen, there's no stamp,no official letter head and it hasn't even been cut straight, also no signature...not the kind of standards I'd expect from a court..anyway I'm worried... 48 hour deadline is up tomorrow when he says he's coming back to remove my goods.I will be home on my own as usual since my boyfriend will be at work and I don't know what to do..any help appreciated..Tia x

Hi Tia

What was the outcome with your letter as I have received a similar letter today for exactly the same amount and I was unaware of any outstanding judgements against me

thanks

Nothing so far Ben..i emailed the bailiff asking to see proof of the debt and a warrant..his reply was to speak to the solicitor at Lowell's,I emailed those too asking them to send me whatever credit agreement it relates to and they haven't responded either..so the 48 hour deadline has well and truly passed with not even so much as a phone call but its unlikely that its the end of the matter.good luck with yours x

Ok thanks for the reply.
i think I am going to contact Lowells direct to find out what it is for. It just doesn't seem a very professional 'court' letter that is handwritten with only basic information on it

Thanks

Any chance of a photo of this letter?

If the bailiff wants to execute the warrant he'd better have a copy of it, so I would insist that he send you a copy of the warrant or any further attendance at your property will be taken to be trespass under common law, then reported to the police as such.

It did have my address written in the corner but this was also handwritten but yes I thought it was strange to be written in that way

I have tried to ring the court but had no response so I have now emailed them asking for copies of the original debt and the warrant

Thanks for doing that.

Mrs Morton ?
Costs ''in the region of £80'' ?? ploddertom

Anyway ring the court with that claim reference number and warrant and ask them the status of the claim.

If you can't get hold of your local court you can try the Northampton Business Centre as it should show on their computer system too.

Any CCJ showing on your credit file ?

It sounds like civil rather than magistrates ( county court not magistrates etc) but the bailiff could be something like council tax? any issues there? but then it says LOWELL quite clearly... which is odd in itself - particularly for such a small amount.

Have you rang the number and asked the 'bailiff' ?

Looks like there is a certifcated bailiff at Worcester called Megan Morton.
