    Hi there
Just a bit of advice needed please.
I have been paying Capquest for an Orange debt. It says they OWE ME? £602.57
I looked on my bank account and it says I have been paying them since Nov 2011 at a rate of £2.50 per week
I worked this out and it came to £642.50
    I had paid to them.
I have made no contact with them at all besides payment via a standing order through my bank.
They send me letters every month asking me to discuss the account but I ignore them as I am paying it.
Is this a scam to get me to contact them?
I know if no contact is made from me for 6 years then the debt is null and void.
Is paying them at £2.50 per week a form of contacting them though anyway.
A refund of over £600 would be lovely but need advice
They want me to ring them.
    Many thanks
    Rachael

If you've been paying them then unfortunately the Statute Barred argument won't work :sorry: ...although a £600+ rebate sounds great!! It would help if you could upload a redacted pic of the letter you're talking about so the knowledgeable Beagles can advise

            Hello Rachy,

The alleged debt cannot be statute barred because each and every payment resets the statute barred " clock" back to zero.

How much was the original debt?

            Have you stopped payments now?

                Oh wow....
Orig debt was in the £500s
Not sure why I'm being offered a refund but maybe I made a few payments before I started making reduced ones in 2011.
                Thanks very much guys.
All of your advice is greatly appreciated
Can't believe it isn't a scam and I will have some Christmas money.
                Thanks a million guys.
                Xx
