  • Warm Home Discount Scheme 2016/17

It's that time of year again  ... don't forget to sign up if you're eligible!!

    https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-dis...what-youll-get

For winter 2016 to 2017, you could get £140 off your electricity bill through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.

The money isn’t paid to you - it’s a one-off discount on your electricity bill, usually between September and March.

The discount won’t affect your Cold Weather Payment or Winter Fuel Payment.

Not everyone gets the discount - check if you qualify.

Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

Received a letter/statement from my Lecci provider at beginning of week, saying that the £140 less my £32 monthly DD payment resulting in a net amount of £108 will be credited by direct debit by 31st October 16, Am I right in assuming that it will be paid into my bank account?

Your provider is able to tell you how you'll be paid if needs be, but I think it all depends on how you pay for it already (if you have a PAYG meter you get a voucher to redeem etc...) xx

I pay by DD, and the letter just says £108 will be credited by direct debit by 31st October 16
so I assume they are going to pay it directly into my bank account. Im confused because it says in post 1 -

It might just be 'added' to your account (so you will be in £+ for a time)??

......and why £108 as the discount is £140 gross which should show as £133.33 net of VAT?

Im confused Des, the £108 would represent the £140 discount less the £32 by DD that I would normally pay, so it seems there wont be a dd collected at the end of this month and Im being repaid the difference of £108

Something not adding up. or is it subtraction?
The scheme is a rebate made to your account or vouchers if you use a prepayment meter.
I can't find any company which actually advertises it pays the rebate into a customer's bank account, so just consider yourself lucky!
