After what period does a debt become statute barred? Thanks again. Mc
Since your offer of settlement the 6 year clock restarted on the date you made the offer, so 6 years from that point.

Not heard anything on this as yet. Sent the letter recorded 17th October. They haven't even acknowledged. Is it time for a reminder? Thanks

On another note and I can start a separate thread on this if needed. A family friend took hire purchase out on a car nearly three years ago and also took payment protection. He had a massive stroke two years ago and has been left paralysed from the waist down so hence the car is of no use to him. The payment protection kicked in okay but it was only for one year. He is now being hounded for the payments and is struggling to pay as obviously he can no longer work. Can anyone advise on this please?

                Hello Mc

Yes it would be better to start a new thread, if possible with as much detail as possible to as much help as possible !

Did you get proof of posting &, if sent by tracked post, have you confirmed that AG received it?

I have proof of posting and was sent on a sign for delivery basis. I also sent a copy to Shoosmiths as an advisory which I'm glad I did now as I have tracked both and the Shoosmiths one has been received and signed for but not the more important one to Arrow Global. This must have gone astray. I sent it to their Bedford Row office, Wc1r4js. I will have to contact Royal Mail tomorrow to see what has gone wrong with it as it is not showing as received on their tracking. Mc

It may well have been refused.

Why would they have refused it? Does this make proof of posting more important?

They have begun a rather stupid response to receiving signed for post, they just refuse to sign/take delivery.

You could resend it via ordinary 1st class post; get proof of posting. (Free certificate available at Post Office).
Make sure the postal order etc. & the CCA request are clearly cross-referred, & endorsed 'For Statutory purposes only.
