  • Parking Eye - won

    Hi

i cant seem to access pepipoo forums so i am having to post on here,
i visited a southall car park thats newly opened, i had no idea it was privately owned and always thought it was council operated.
They have signed that are high up and not easily readable unless you park properly and get out and read the signs, which is what i did, the car park is pretty small and has lots of traffic as it exits a main road, It was pretty tough trying to leave hence the long stay and they also had a delivery truck unloading while i was trying to find a suitable location to park

They have a machine in which you need to enter car reg number, i cant believe that if you access the car park you must purchase a ticket, i feel i am being forced into paying for parking, it may be a small amount but i feel its just like clamping!

i am sorry i had to edit alot of the ticket out as i am worried parkingeye might have hired an idiot to monitor these forums!

    thank you in advance

does anyone have good solid template i could use

    thank you in advance

      Re: Parking Eye

yes within 12 days and the driver was in the car park for 18mins, its a pretty small car park so to park safely and read the 15line small font word print does take a while

do i have any play here ?

Im furious that they are forcing you to pay as soon as you have entered the parking area without any chance to or time to read the signage or terms and conditions of the stay

i feel this is very wrong.

its understandable if the driver had stayed for 30mins or over a hour without paying but being it a small car park its very tight and usually packed

If you go as far as popla they will remove the available discount. It's not a 100% win but the odds would still be in our favour.

          Re: Parking Eye

sorry to keep posting slow updates, i visited the site again, i feel they do have a grace period of 15 mins but im not 100% sure, hence my ticket for 19 mins

another problem i have is that there is cctv everywhere. i saw about 8 cameras that cover every corner.

so i am not sure what my play is, if they didnt have CCTV i feel i had a chance but now i need to prove i didnt stop for any longer than park and read t&c, i feel i may have waited a few mins extra to make a call but didnt know that would count!

            Re: Parking Eye

The cctv has no significance. The appeal would be won on, keeper liability (providing you do not tell them who was driving or indicate anywhere they can read), signage, lack of contract or simply duff evidence submitted to popla which is surprisingly often.

99% of the time what actually happened in the car park means nothing.
