question regarding a non order.

Hi guys I am yet another farther victim of an ex girlfriend who is using my 1 year old girl as a weapon. I'm Currently waiting till weds to find out what kind of contact I will be having. It's been 2 weeks since I saw my little girl. My question is am I still allowed to ask my ex how my little girl is doing? The non mol order states I cannot send any threatening communication. 2.coming within 50 feet of home. 3. Damaging property. I really feel as tho I should know how my girl is after all she is just as much hers as myn. So is asking about her wellbeing a breach?

Have you a mutual friend who could find out for you without breaking the order until this is sorted?

not really mate no, i mean if i wasn't allowed to ask about my little girl I'm sure it would say no communication at all. but it doesn't. just a horrible circumstance to be in mate. haven't been away from her since birth and now this. the sad thing is i know some lads deserve non mols for a reason, but me, i haven't done a thing wrong and I'm being punished for it.

You mention Wednesday. Is there a hearing then? I would maybe wait the couple of days and then discuss this on Wednesday. I wouldn't suggest texting as it can often be taken the wrong way, which will not help your cause. With a non-mol order in place you need to be seen to be complying and 'doing the right thing' I appreciate how frustrating and upsetting it can be but you don't want to be perceived as demanding information about your baby, however well intentioned, as it could be taken the wrong way. Maybe if you have a hearing on Wednesday then regular contact will happen and there won't be a need for you to have weekly updates. If not then an agreement may be reached that your ex provide a monthly update on your daughter's progress. Whatever happens, I would suggest that sending occasional cards to your daughter would be a good idea. Keep a copy of them and whatever you do keep the cards light, things like 'thinking of you' and telling her what you've been up to. Nothing about mum or anything that could be seen to be winding up the situation. Hopefully in the future your relationship with your daughter can grow.
