  • Mer Parking PCN 16 months after the incident

    Hi,
The following smells fishy to me, any advice would be welcome.

In May 2015 my partner driving my car overstayed the allowed time at Gatwick airport. when the first PCN came a few days after that (back in 2015) I appealed, the appeal was rejected and got a POPLA number. I had sent evidence to Met Parking that I, personally, was in an airplane in the air at the time of the parking ticket, used the templates on the site, and did not disclose who the driver was. I did not pursue with POPLA as I forgot to do it within the timescales. Then I heard nothing until today (14/9/2016) when I received a Parking Charge Notice Reminder for £100.00 (dated 12/9/2016) asking to pay the amount within 7 days, pointing that POPLA is no longer available.

Can they do this 16 months down the line?

    Many thanks

    Alex

They have 6 years to take court action. They currently don't do court, but i've not heard anyone getting love letters after so long either.

You can either ignore or pay at this stage.
