  • Took a company to Court - bar in palce - dormant company?

So six days after starting a claim via MCOL, it says defence filed, bar put in place for defendant.

Trying to figure out why, it says the company is dormant on Companies House website.

So is this the reason for the bar? Not sure...

If you only started the claim only 6 days ago it's unlikely that a defence would be filed yet. As far as I know you can sue a dormant company.

It does say that - Defence filed, bar put in place for Defendant.

Was the claim acknowledged by the defendant?

The Defendant may well just have put a defence in straight away, or an application to strike. Whichever it is you should receive a copy from the court soon.

If the OP wins against a dormant company I would expect the company to have no assets /money so where next?

The bar stops you from requesting judgment, so presumably, the Defendant has taken action on receipt of your claim.
