  • Sales Performance Managent - correct process?

    Hello all,

I have worked for my company for over 2 years and am now facing a performance management meeting. I'm unsure whether or not this is valid in accordance with the companies performance management policy.

    The key information:

We are set 2 targets, lets refer to them as A & B.
The performance management policy only makes reference to target B being met and doesn't reference target A at all.
In May I didn't hit the required level for target B and was told unless I met both targets in June I would be asked to attend a meeting of which the outcome could be a written warning.
In June I didn't hit target A but did exceed target B by a considerable amount, I have now been invited to a meeting as described above.

    My questions:
Is it right that I should face potential disciplinary action for my performance when I met all criteria set out in the performance management policy?

Thanks in advance for any assistance and my apologies if any of the above is unclear - please let me know if any future information is required.

I guess all that you can do in this situation is to question why you are having a disciplinary on the basis that the performance management policy does not specify that you are required to meet target A. You have hit target B as required and you can see no reason why the disciplinary should take place.

Have the meeting documented in writing, get a copy of the meeting notes and have them signed by the person conducting the disciplinary. You could perhaps have someone accompany you to the meeting as a witness of what has been said and discussed. This could be trade union rep or a work colleague.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
