  • Ex talktalk customer

    Hello
Until 2 years ago I was a talk talk customer but switched to BT. Ever since the hack that talk talk had I have been receiving calls telling me they were from talk talk and asking me to check my PC - well I dont have a PC I have a Mac so I can play with them on that but it is getting to be a joke , today 01913889827 called me claiming to be from talktalk.

This has become a real nuisance, god alone knows how often they call as I am not home in the day that often but it seems to happen every time i am here. Do I have any comeback on talktalk?

    Thanks

Certainly a scam according to whocalledme

You could report them via that site.

      Thank Charitynjw

I have reported it on the site you mentioned

I wonder if there is any comeback on talktalk for breach of data protection although I would imagine they have been punished by the regulator.

Surprised two days ago by talktalk. Neighbour, who is 85 and living on her own, couldn't get calls in or out on her landline. Checked at test socket at master socket. Reported to the usual numbers and response was "check with us in 72 hours for status". What the ....... !!!
emailed CEO's office and within a couple of hours line was up and working. Today Openreach are there checking the line (which was noisy).
Sometimes they can get it right.

i don't want this to be a discussion on the merits of talktalk

I would appreciate the ceo email address

              Re: Ex talktalk customer

The calls from 01913889827 are NOT from TalkTalk. They are just scammers/spammers saying they are talktalk to try and get access to your computer etc.

And there is no need to be so rude.

                Re: Ex talktalk customer

Sorry , I didn't mean to be rude all i was saying was that I had asked a question which seemed to be getting lost in a discussion on the pros and cons of talk talk. No doubt there will be some who have good experiences and some or have bad.

I was with them for quite a few years and until latterly had good experiences which was why I left

I know the number is not talk talk but from looking at the link provided it seems these calls are all related to the hack where someone stole a list of names and phone numbers.

                  Apology accepted.

That would be a matter for the Information Commissioners office regarding the hack and fall out consequences of it. Of course the numbers could have come from other sources. I don't recall the outcome of the ICO investigation into the Hack - was there any recompense for those affected at all ?

I have tweeted TalkTalk to see if they are aware of the number.

lol, well their Twitter customer services like to stick to their script don't they ! They aren't aware of the number - but are now.

Report to Landline provider ( in other words just block the number ).

@TalkTalkCare Okay. Just trying to make you aware that lots of your customers/ex-customers are getting these calls pretending to be you.

@TalkTalkCare as they aren't particularly nice calls and your customers might come to you with their complaints. That's okay, anytime.
