  • Income tax question?

    Good Afternoon all

After what seems like an eternity I have finally settled with my ex employers on the termination of my employment on Medical grounds and have a ill health application to the pension scheme,

I have a question with regards to Income tax if anyone can help please, basically I have paid an awful lot of tax on my settlement and two extra pensions that I have, I have paid about 45 percent and the HMRC have not allowed me any personal allowance for the time I am to be unemployed which by the way will be for the next 8 years until my official retirement they have determined that everything I have has been added together and treated as income, I understand that this is the case and I have to pay my taxes like everyone else but they have said I can get a rebate at the new tax year 2017

Both my private pensions have had to deduct emergency tax from the lump sum as I am taking them in cash

I will be leaving my company pension as it is and taking a smaller lump sump and a yearly pension

Can anyone tell me haw to get a rebate now as they have overtaxed me by about £4000 and I would like it now not next year, I have no idea what tax forms I need to fill in and the HMRC are not much help

    Thank you Stillo
