Be aware if the claim is issued in the UK expect an application from them to dispute jurisdiction and argue that English court is not the appropriate forum. The general rule is that the courts have jurisdiction subject to certain factors such as expense, governing law, whether the trial heard abroad will be unjust against the claimant etc.

If they do produce the defence alluded to by R0b IMO it should be struck out following Sch 4 Sec 2 Art 5 of the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Act 1982:
"A person domiciled in a part of the United Kingdom may, inanother part of the United Kingdom, be sued : (1) in matters relating to a contract, in the courts for the placeof performance of the obligation in question "

I have an address for an 'officer of the company' that is in London. Can I serve a Small Claims summons there? He is listed as a director.

Generally one would serve proceedings as mentioned above.
However Companies Act 2006 sec 1140 allows for service at a Director's "registered address".
You could try this, but expect the defendant to claim the papers were not validly served.
Your response will be to refer to Key Homes Bradford v Patel (http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Ch/2014/B1.pdf)

If the Defendant has given no address for service, CPR 6.9 also allows service of a claim form at the principle office or any place within the jurisdiction which the business carries on its activities and has a real connection to the claim.
