    i received a letter from bwleagal on behalf of lowell , they say if i contact them before 25th may which is 2 days i can prevent court action against me to claim an amount on a debt i defaulted on in 2009 from provident..the same week i received a county court claim form for said amount from county court business centre , Northhampton..i phoned BWlegal to try to arrange a payment plan before court but all they kept telling me was to send the claim form which is white to the court centre then they will deal with me..is this legal, i am very confused

    Get the usual process under way Send CCA request to Lowell and CPR request to BW Legal... But first ensure you do Acknowledgment of service asap, MCOL (Money Claim Online) is the quickest route...

    If you defaulted in 2009 and you have not spoken to anyone or made a payment of any sort to this debt since that time your account is Statute Barred and lastly and most importantly don't panic all the help and advice is right here on LB
