    Hi, i am completely new to this forum but would much appreciate any advice anyone can give to me!

    Firstly a quick brief background of the situation.. I am full time carer to my Wife who is under regular Psychiatrist & GP for severe long term mental health struggles - Chronic anxiety & depression.. I had to take over full responsibility for all her bills & finances about 3 months ago now since she became too ill & vulnerable (had another breakdown).

    This morning i received through the post a brown envelope with the address P.O. Box 300, NORTHAMPTON, NN1 2TX.. printed on the back & on the front POSTAGE PAID NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE 142. It is addressed to my Wife & inside the following

    In the COUNTY COURT BUSINESS CENTRE

    ISSUE DATE 11 APR 2016

    Court Address

    COUNTY COURT BUSINESS CENTRE
    4TH FLOOR ST KATHERINE'S HOUSE
    21-27 ST KATHERINE'S STREET
    NORTHHAMPTON
    NN1 2LH

    Court telephone number:

    Claimant
    LOWELL PORTFOLIO LTD
    ELLINGTON HOUSE
    9 SAVANNAH WAY
    LEEDS
    WEST YORKSHIRE
    LS10 1AB

    Amount claimed 373.41
    Court Fee 35.00
    Legal representative,s costs 50.00
    Total amount 458.41

    Defendant written underneath my Wife's Name & Address.

    Particulars of Claim

    1) The Defendant entered into a Consumer Credit Act 1974 regulated agreement with Capital One under account reference **************** ('the Agreement').
    2) The Defendant failed to maintain the required payments and a default notice was serves and not complied with.
    3) The Agreement was later assigned to the Claimant on 12/03/2015 and notice given to the Defendant .
    4) Despite repeated requests for payment, the sum of ***** remains due & outstanding.
    And the claimant claims
    a) The said sum of £*******
    b) Interest pursuant to s69 County Courts ACT 1984 at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of assignment to the date of issue, accruing at a daily rate of £0.066, but limited to one year, being £24.23
    c)Costs

    Signed Lowell Solicitors Limited


    My Wife deny's remembering anything about this but she is on strong medications & vulnerable so i will probably never know for sure. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

            You need to acknowledge the claim asap.

            If you are going to deal with this on behalf of your OH, you will probably need a consent letter from her (possibly as a Litigation Friend?)
            If it were me, I'd 'phone the court to find out.
