I own a tenement flat in Scotland. Over the years we (the 12 residents/flat owners) have had much work done to the roof to make it water tight (critical in Scotland as I'm sure you'll understand .
A recent investigation due to repeat complaints about the problem show that none of the previous work had been completed in a professional manner, or to put it bluntly, done properly.
There is no way the work carried out would have made the building water tight. I've seen pictures of the work carried out, I'm not a roofer, but if you can fit your hand in a hole in a roof it's likely that water will find it's way in.
Again our factors are now asking us for money to fix a problem, when we've already paid for it to be fixed.
Do we have any legal recourse or consumer/owner rights here?
