  • Received Debt Collector's letter for parking charge notice

    Hi guys

New to this site so hopefully this is in the right forum. About a week ago I was sent a 'Parking Charge Notice Reminder' from MET Parking for £100. Today I received a debt collectors letter for the sum on £150. I didn't realise my car had been ticketed (online evidence shows it had, but must've blown off).

I understand from a friend that a notice to keeper needs to be issued before reminders/debt letters etc but I never received one.

    Can anyone be of assistance?

    Cheers!

Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

Contact MET and the debt collector.

      Dear Sirs,

I have today received a letter from xxx regarding an apparent parking charge notice. This letter today is the first i have heard of the matter and as registered keeper i note that this contravenes the statutory requirements of the protection of freedoms act 2012 schedule 4 for keeper liability. I note that the picture you have online shows a ticket affixed to the vehicle however this was not there when the driver returned to the vehicle. In any event no notice to keeper was received by myself.

I would appeal as registered keeper but note that there appears to be no option to do so. In light of this please contact the driver.

      Yours etc

They will not help but you've marked their card.
