  • JSA after healthcare bank (temp) work

    Hi,

Have tried elsewhere but not got a response yet really and need some JSA advice.
.I've been doing bank/bureau shifts (internally not part of any agency) in mental healthcare for over 2 years. Was earning near full time money originally but with the company now using mostly agency workers shifts are drying up and highly unreliable.
Last 4 months i have come out with less than what housing (only pay 220 a mth rent house share) and JSA would have given me, this month only got shifts to give me £250 so with rent £220 can't even live on it.I'm very actively seeking better employment that's at least more reliable and maybe even put being a graduate to better use than i have so far .Really want to stop being messed about and leave for something new.
Am i better staying on the books on the bank whilst i apply for JSA saying i work under 16 hours and leaving later or requesting my p45 and telling them and JSA i'm looking for work un-restrained and there is no longer any work available etc.Not sure what the smoothest route will be when applying .
I've not got to give any notice period .
I know you can't just leave a job but want to throw myself 100% into a new regular job , would leaving the bureau/bank just be seen as someone de-registering with an agency whilst not in an active contract/job as there's no specific job i'd be leaving as such .Would the specifics of them having my p45 even likely come up if i'm just declaring i worked there but shifts dried up and i'm totally free to find new work.
Any advice appreciated as don't want to mess up something that's really needed right now to get by and hopefully going to be a step forward in the long run.

    Thanks

    James
