There's no point in in trying to guess what will or will not happen as Kati has quite
rightly there's been a mistake which can be sorted out.

That's my biggest problem! I always think of the worst no matter what the details. It was a mistake and I hope it's sorted out straight forward! I'm a complete mess. Every time I stand up I feel like I'm going to faint. Need to eat and sleep but can't. Aw this is rubbish. Thanks again for the reply's!

They might just say wait for a letter, but at least you've done something proactive rather than just winding yourself up That really is all you can do, and it really will not be as bad as you think then you'll feel like a plank for getting yourself in a tizwaz about it xxx

Oh and if you must google, stop with the googling of FRAUD and just google overpayments - you haven't committed fraud, just made a mistake due to a misrep by the Job Centre lacky xxxx
Thank you for the reply I really appreciate it! Everything you've said I keep telling myself I swear lol! I done the same before when a wisdom tooth was coming in. It was later than the rest so I thought it was wrong and would have to have it surgically removed. Turned out it was fine lol. That's what I'm like. Saying that, this is a bit different. As I said I keep telling myself what you've said but that's just my word though! That's why I'm worrying so much! They can just call me a lier. I have no proof. Was a quick convo with an advisor which will cost me over a grand n a half. Keep saying it but thanks for reply's appreciated everyone x

Re: JSA/DWP overpayment!?

I mean if it comes to an IUC then they will obviously claim an advisor wouldn't say that. I cannot prove nowt!

Also the reason of me talking fraud is I read somewhere that if they have been in touch with your employer then there investigation fraud.

Sorry to keep posting guys, you can probably tell how bad I am just by posting.

Thank you! Don't want to seem annoying. Worst case I think would be for them to send me a letter to come for an IUC. Followed by they don't believe me basically think I'm telling lies, then prosecute me. I don't know how it works. Would I have to go to court then possibly worse? Pretty much that tbh. I 100% didn't work and not tell them on purpose. But as I said they can call me a lier, job centre advisor wouldn't say that it's wrong ect, accused of fraud. Prosecuted taking to court and who knows. I can't go to jail even for a small amount of time, being away from my kids would kill me. And I need to support my partner as well as them.

Re: JSA/DWP overpayment!?

Okay, well Jail isn't going to happen - if you have been googling you'll have seen some £20k frauds have only been given suspended sentences and community work orders - so put that out of your mind.
Court and prosecution doesn't often happen under £5k. If you can start making repayments asap (ie when you call the debt team on Monday) then that will help your case and show it was a genuine mistake that you're trying to sort out. What have you done in between November 24th ( when you got the letter ) - well you've been to the job centre and discussed it with an advisor -
She could tell I didn't know the full 16 hour scenario a she said you AREN'T ??? in any trouble you just new to give your payslips in.
and ?? been worrying and watching the letter box ??

Also ''Mark'' isn't working for the DWP for a reason... the job centre will know he was giving dodgy advice I suspect, if anything did end up going to court that could be looked into.

Also on Monday you could get in contact with Citizens Advice... they might be able to help allay your fears, and if you did end up with an IUC they might be able to put you in touch with a solicitor who can help you with the interview etc (IF IT GETS TO THAT) xxx

Re: JSA/DWP overpayment!?

ok ... worst case is they take you to court??

IF that did happen (and I'm not saying it will) you would be given a chance to arrange repayments then!

Until you've received a letter I'd be tempted to carry on as normal xx

Re: JSA/DWP overpayment!?

Yeah I've seen them on Google, I've googled everything, I'm finding myself reading the same posts I've already read! 4 days of this, morning to night. Can't google any more tbh nothing else to read ha!

Well it's way under 5. I was only paid 1700 odds over the entire course of being on JSA. I was entitled to a few full of they pays then over paid the rest but always would have been entitled to something. And as I said when I made a claim I wasn't working whatsoever. Just know a letters coming just before Xmas day. I'll put it out my head or try then just before Xmas it will happen. As I said just praying it's an overpayment letter nothing more!

Sorry I'm not quoting, it's a nightmare on my phone and end up deleting some or typing in the wrong bit.
