  • Help needed with Reston's solicitors

Hi, new poster here who needs a little help with Reston's acting on behalf of Cabot.

A few years ago I was illy and got into some debt with cards and loans but I managed to sort most of the issues my self and am now in a much better position.

However recently I was contacted by Restons on behalf of Cabot who have bought a n old Capital One debt that I thought was long forgotten for £2700. On 05/12 they wrote to me asking for payment proposals and to contact them buy 18/12 or they would start county court proceedings. I wrote back on 10/12, asking for proof of the alleged debt.

However on 15/12 I actually received paperwork from Nothampton County court dated 11/12. In actual fact Restons had commenced court proceedings on almost the same day that they had written to me giving me 14 days to contact them!

What should my plan of action be? They have not replied to my letter asking for proof of the debt as yet
