    Re: Help with RLP

I think you would be better ignoring, but if you wish to respond to them I think keep it simple - as Des has said if you throw Oxford and CPUT regs at them they come back with more and get nastier, so all you need to do is ask them to cease contacting you and if they continue after that you can make formal complaints to trading standards, the police possibly for harassment and ask your MP to intervene. Also the ICO for them holding your data, I'm not sure if they have threatened you with the 'employee blacklist' ?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dear Sirs

I am in receipt of your letter dated 18th October 2015.

In January 2015 your client, Debenhams Plc, wrongly accused me of shoplifting. I have denied the accusation consistently from that date and following my attendance at magistrates court I was found to be innocent of any wrongdoing.

Your clients have accepted the ruling of the court and I am, therefore, quite horrified to continue receiving letters from Retail Loss Prevention Ltd demanding payment of £xxxx .

Your letters are prolonging my distress over the entire incident and despite my having informed your company and your staff on numerous occasions of my innocence you continue to harass and attempt to intimidate me into making payment to you.

I have not entered into, nor do I have any intention of entering into, any agreement nor contract with your company. I therefore request you cease and desist with immediate effect, and remove any of my personal data from your systems.

Any further communication will not be responded to and a complaint will be made to the Information Commissioners Office, the Police, Nottingham Trading Standards and my local MP.

    Sincerely

    privatetrey

          Re: Help with RLP

Its just RLP bullying people who are stressed enough after making in most cases a silly mistake as the OP was found innocent by a court of law the law should come down on RLP and close them down .

                  Re: Help with RLP

How peculiar that a "specialist" company that undertakes civil recovery for large companies has to employ a Debt collector to try and obtain the money it was previously threatening to collect via the county court.
The debt collectors have no more authority than RLP.
RLP have failed, so they try and ratchet up the pressure by using Debt Collectors, who might even write in big scary red ink.
Follow Kati's advice and continue to ignore,

They are nearing the end, and might soon offer you a reduced settlement figure (which you continue to ignore)

(((((((((((((((((hug))))))))))))))))))) please please don't let it get to you, its like me writing to you and telling you you owe me £150 for helping you write a letter.... that would have as much standing.

If you feel like being proactive, a copy of the letter posted on here ( minus your personal details ) would be useful xxx
