Do you currently live there under an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement? (a signed document that's still "in date" and usually has the words "assured shorthold tenancy" written on it)

    Also, is this in England?

Is there a rent review clause in that 2010 agreement?

Then your LL must either (i) serve a s13 notice on you, or (ii) grant a new tenancy at a higher rent after serving a notice for possession on you.
