Smart Parking PCN for incomplete registration number.

I have received a PCN from smart parking for an incomplete registration number on my parking ticket ie 7UJS , being the last 4 digits, but I' m sure I put in full registration. Does anyone know of machines that only record last 4 digits? PS the machines have recently been changed, so I cannot check .

It is pretty unlikely that it was designed to take part of a registration. Doesn't mean it wasn't faulty though.

If you want help appealing post up the letter and tell me if you done anything like appeal or if you've just received a letter.
