Question about Consumer Credit Acts of 1964-65 and 1974

Hi,

Im a Law student from Sri Lanka.
My question is about England Consumer Credit Acts of 1964-65 and 1974.
I need some info about this for an assignment Im working on.

I read some articles and found out that Acts of 1964-65 had lot of faults.
Because of this England parliament introduced the 1974 Act and made lot of improvements.

So my question is, is it possible for you to list out important faults that were in 1964-65 Acts and which sections introduced in 1974 Act to improve them?

I didn't know there was a Consumer Credit Act in 1964. There was a Hire Purchase Act ?

The CCA 1974 was updated in 2006 ?

Looking at the repeals made by the 1974 Act it is apparent that there was no consolidated legislation relating to consumer credit prior to 1974. There was no consumer credit act in either 1964 or 1965.

Im sorry. In 1964-65 there was Hire Purchase acts. Not Consumer credit.
My assignment is related to Hire Purchases.
My understanding is that, some faults relating to Hire Purchases in 1964-65 acts were improved in 1974 act.
I need your help to find what.
