  • Bank Smart - am getting desperate...

I have read other complaints about them and we have fallen foul of the same practices - we have tried to leave but were told we were liable for charges of £1552.00 at the end of last week, my husband emailed them to say reinstate the claims for now and we have had a reply today saying our bill is now £6,600 + VAT and could be more with legal fees on top! What have they done since last week to earn £5,000? He was sick as soon as he read the email and is now grey in the face and completely stressed out - I am so worried about him. What can we do now? We accept that if someone does a service they expect to be paid, but this is surely usury. Can anyone help?

You need to make a formal complaint to them for which they have 8 weeks to give you a final response. Assuming they don't drop the charges you can then take the complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.
