    Evening
    recently i have been struck with credit companies letters saying i owe them money from a lloyds bank credit card, i have not had a credit card for 8 years, i think ihad a lloyds tsb credit card but that was some time ago, i have contacted CABOT finance and asked for history of payment i made to them, they claim i made payment some 5 years ago, i sdont recall, i asked for proof and havenow been sent a county court buisness centre claim form, what options do you thin i have before submitting,

    It sounds like you may well have a statute barred defence ( section 5 limitation act ) in that you haven't acknowledged or paid the debt for over 6 years ?
    they claim i made payment some 5 years ago, i sdont recall, i asked for proof
    They often 'find' a payment just within the 6 years - so you are absolutely right to have asked for proof... and we can carry that request through in your CPR letter request for information.
