  • Incorrect default dates on credit file

    Hi

I have a few debts that in a few months time leading to feb next year fall off my credit file.

but looking over old paper i have noticed that a few dates are incorrect as i have original default notices from the original creditor

How do i go about changing these dates
and when? before or after as i dont want to mistakenly admit to them

    cheers

    H welcome to LB,

I think you have fallen into an all too common trap re default notice and registered default date.

To explain: A Default Notice is the creditors " warning " that unless an account is put into " normal status e.g. up to date/arrears paid that it intends to register a default after the time scale in the notice expires.

This can sometimes be up to 6 months after the DN expires. This can be longer if a " payment plan" or similar is agreed and not maintained.

Simply the DN date and the actual default date are not the same.

Are you referring to a Notice of Assignment of the debt to a DCA?
