ParkingEye fine

Dear users - I recently got 2 ParkingEye fines - both for use of a Morissons car park. I must admit I did not read the signs properly and assumed the car park was like Tesco and as it did not have a boom system I thought the parking was free for 2 hours. I was in an after work rush... which is no excuse! I have read various things about ParkingEye and how they cannot enforce the fines but most of these threads date back to 2013 - I was wondering if anyone has more up to date information on this and suggestions....
