  • Cancelling a HP agreement

    Hi
I've looked through the posts but can't find a recent reply.
I've VT my HP agreement and all that part has gone fine, the problem I have is they want a £80 collection charge to get the vehicle or I need to take it to Bristol (I live in Plymouth) are they allowed to do this?

The quick answer is no. Tell them them you are willing to deliver to a convenient local point. Also confirm that you will be cancelling the insurance and taking a refund of tax paid after 14 days as the vehicle is now their property. You will also be charging them storage charges after this time.

I've got no where with this. They state that Bristol is the closest drop off point and if they collect I have to pay.

Right wanted this sorted out quick so I've paid to have it collected as the £80 is a lot cheaper than paying £185 for another 2 years, that and when I worked it out I thought I'd still have £75 to get to the 50% but it was only 12p.
The issue I have now is they won't be doing the condition report until it is dropped off at the other end? I know it's in very good condition for its age and mileage but they could say anything if I'm not present.

Take lots of photos of it before they collect it xx Inside/ Outside/underneath.
