For example they agree to pay me £1000 and cancel any "fines". This can be accepted by sending/giving/placing on my car a penalty notice?
If not, how can I frame a sign which would work?

So I accept the basic terms, but amend the penalty clause terms, which they can agree to by sending me a penalty notice.
How would the sign accept this offer exactly ?

The ANPR doesn't make the contract though, the sign and performance does

        ANPR just provides evidence.

agreed ... but if ANPR is used in place of a parking 'attendant' then surely the cameras are involved in any parking tickets :noidea:
if the camera didn't see the OP's note on the windshield, then the parking co. could use the 'no valid contract' argument too :confused2:

How can I anyway have a contract or contract negotiation with a sign? A sticker? The sign does not send me penalty notices? How can it? The company shows acceptance of my sign by sending me a penalty notice. Or if no penalty notice arrives I assume it does not accept the contract.

If a sign and parking is a legal contract, then so surely is a sign in my car window and the company sending me acceptance in the specified way of a penalty notice? My sign would seek to vary the terms in the only way available with a sign, that is with another sign.

Perhaps my sign should specify a charge for spell checking a penalty notices? By analogy with a charge for parking. The company indicates acceptance of the contract by sending me a penalty notice. I then return the spell checked penalty notice with an invoice for the service. I could reduce the invoice by any parking fees they think I owe as a good will gesture.

The signs must be in such quantity and clarity that a normal person would have seen them.

Your argument runs along the same lines as telling your monitor it owes you £100 for every spelling mistake that you make. 1. It's bullshit. 2. You won't get an answer from it either.

There are people in need of my time to actually help them so, goodbye.

I am sorry to take your time, clearly other people have real problems.
Nevertheless it was helpful to me (and possibly others) to understand what was wrong with my proposal. So thank you for your help.
It seems you have no choice but to "accept" odious parking contracts. At least when you can't walk so far with old age.

Was also my point; if no attendance, how do you prove acceptance their end?
