I felt attacked like when i stopped a thief 2 weeks ago and he threatened to break my jaw. i am taking photos of him in case he does really want me gone and i have to go to tribunal I've been through it before and hope it isn't about to happen again it is v stressful and my wife is struggling as it is. also the rosta was set by previous managers and had no problem with it. it was worked out by our resources department not me. my assignment instructions say that i am not allowed to add hours at the stores request only in special circumstances.
OK am still struggling to follow what your trying to explain due to lack of grammar in your posts am afraid. So just to make sure i got this right i've some more questions that i'd like for you to give simple answers too, just like you did in earlier posts.

1 - Did your manager shout and have ago at you near the tills in front of customers, when he was going ballistic with you?

2 - Was it your manager or the thief that threatened to break your jaw?

3 - Is the manager trying to set a new rota?

4 - Can you contact resource department and ask them if they are changing the rota for your site or not? Because if they are not and its just the manager trying to change the rota, you can complain to resource department about the changes hes making.

5 - How are you taking picture of him, Phone, Body Cam?

1 - Did your manager shout and have ago at you near the tills in front of customers, when he was going ballistic with you? yes twice in about a half hour period.

2 - Was it your manager or the thief that threatened to break your jaw? the thief it was him who said that but it shook me up like that male did by his behaviour and tone of voice.

3 - Is the manager trying to set a new rota? yes and if i don't accept it would means he sets me up for more weekends than i do already he said i will be under 30 days notice if i don't go along with it.

4 - Can you contact resource department and ask them if they are changing the rota for your site or not? Because if they are not and its just the manager trying to change the rota, you can complain to resource department about the changes hes making.the manager said he was getting my manager in to thrash out what he wants to do with the rota although my asignment instructions even states it isn't up to him. I will contact my resources department in the morning and the colleague support advisors

5 - How are you taking picture of him, Phone, Body Cam? with my phone off the cctv system is that ok or should i delete if he does it again what would happen if i recorded what he was saying because i am so stressed i can't even take it all in.

I am also going to my doctors see if i can get some time off because of the stress he has caused me. The new managers are making life hell for nearly all staff and the night team . The manager and the store manager were saying that i should catch 5 thieves a day and at the same time staying at the front of the store and basically telling me how to do my job when they don't have a clue and when i am the only security the store has. is it true there is a health and safety issue in the fact there is only 1 guard is there a statute in law saying? this i would be very interested to know the sad thing is i was forced to take a 10p and pay cut to go there or my area manager said i would be made redundant the site is also twice as far away from me to my old store so i lose out all round.
thanks again for your continued help and sorry I try to type fast and it comes out wrong or miss words out also sometimes i do it on my mobile and im not good with them and maybe I should have been tested for dyslexia when i went to school in the 80's they weren't very good or interested in testing you for it or sometimes i know what i want to say but it gets all jumbled up. Sorry

No need to apologise, i suffer dyslexia myself, which in way makes it even harder for me to read what your saying in your post. but don't worry about ti to much, so long as i get the basics of whats going on at your work its fine.

The recordings, keep them. But don't get caught taking them of the CCTV, so be careful. If you can get audio recordings of what hes saying then even better. I may need you to email the recordings you have to the site team (am sure Kati will pop along and provide an email address, and forward them to me - Shes nice like that), as i think you may have grounds for bringing a grievance against the manager for bullying in regards to his behavior and conduct towards you. He should not be doing it in public like that, but i'll need to see the recordings you have to be sure first.

Is this manager the shop manager and therefore not employed by your security firm that your employed by?

Re: security officer being forced to work every weekend

no he is nothing to do with my security company he is the front of store manager we are a very large diy store you know the one. At the moment i get it from the store manager, deputy manager and him there all are out for me it seems the deputy manager he is always at me for the state of my office he won;t let me have a desk to put anything in and about about processes (since the refurb and me getting rid of my old desk it is a lot tidier so I don't know what his trouble is but he goes at it to the twentieth degree all the other workers agree he is getting to the top by stamping on everyone else. The store managers thinks i should be running round the store when i am not twenty any more so it is out of the question and as I have bad feet from I am sure walking so much on the hard floor it is also bringing out the blood vessells in my ankles and knees quite badly to the point of worrying me how long i will last anyway and my cracked hills are not a pretty site but i cant afford a chiropodist .thanks for you quick reply.

Bullseye - I was hoping you'd say he wasn't employed by same company :tinysmile_twink_t2:

He has no say over your contract, your rota is decided by your company and likely agreed via a contract between yours and his employer - So no its not for him or the company that owns the store to demand you changed your rota. The proper route would be for his employer to approach yours and request the Rota be changed. He is basically overstepping his authority, committing criminal harassment against you, and likely defaming you in public and to other staff members, which may amount to slander.

But for now, keep refusing to change rota's only for a couple more days just so you will have Audio recording of what hes saying to you. Then at the weekend or maybe even on Friday. I going to write a letter for you to address to the DIY companies head office, where you will also be giving a copy to your own Human Resource Department (along with a grievance letter - More on that on friday) and handing a copy of the letter to the Store manager and to his deputy manager (since letter be concerning both of them since the deputy been doing the same).

When you speak to your Resouces Department (i assume thats Human Resources?) - Tell them you will be sending them a grievance letter about the situation along with a copy of a Formal Complaint letter - Notice to Cease and Desist, against the manager, deputy manager etc to the DIY companies Human Resources department too.

Re: security officer being forced to work every weekend

On second thoughts - DO NOT mention the letters to your Resources Department when you speak to them - Just ask if they know anything about any changes to your Rota? if they ask why, just say you were curious that's all - As don't want to give anyone the heads up about it (letters).

Well best thing to do is wait for him to approach you and continue to refuse to change shift, simply tell him " its not for him or his company to decide what your rota is, as your not employed by his company as an employee. Your Rota is given to you by the security firm that employs you" And then just let him have his pathetic rant at you, just do not respond to his aggression, instead just keep quiet and simply repeat "its not for him or his company to decide what your rota is, as your not employed by his company as an employee. Your Rota is given to you by the security firm that employs you" and then state "Your continuing public outburst and aggressive mannerism and verbal assault of myself in public in front of customers and staff is harassment, and is unbecoming, unreasonable and totally unjustified way for a manager to act in such way towards not only his own companies employees but also the employees that work for firms contracted by his employee to provide a service" - Then walk away and continue with your duties, if he follows you, just say no more but keep recording.

In fact, send me copies of the CCTV that you have and any recordings you can get today, as probably better i write the letter after reviewing the CCTV and recordings and use what is contained in them against him in the letter, making it even harder for him or his employer to squirm their way out of it! Send the CCTV and Audio Recordings to the email Kati has kindly provided and she will forward them on to myself. Once i have them i will let you know here.
