  • Dca discussed wifes debt with me....

my wife is owe and been paying a dca for unpaid child-minding registration fees, the dca employee who deals with my wifes debt is a bully, if the payment is not made exactly when my wife says she can she is threatening her with bailiffs, court action etc, i have heard what she is like over speaker phone and for a woman she has a very intimidating manner.
Anyway my wife was making a payment by card one time, and so happens it was my card, they asked for my authorisation, so the wife gives the phone to me and i authorise the payment, now this employee, did not know i was her husband only that the surname on the card was the same, she proceeded to start discussing my wifes debt and started asking me what measures were going to be taken so she paid on time in future, i told her that she should not be discussing with me and put her back on to my wife.
i have a BSc in applied networking and technologies, we covered the Data Protection Act quite extensively as part of my degree and i am sure what the dca employee done was illegal, (discussing my wife's debt with someone other than my wife), am i correct in thinking this?
    any input would be welcome
