DO NOT PAY, THIS IS NOT A FINE. Search the forum for other RLP entries.

This is merely a speculative invoice asking for money that is not owed to them. The last time RLP tried court they lost big time.

They only people that can fine you are the courts, and they haven't been, and will not be, involved. As you are under 18 they are on very sticky ground again.

DO NOT PAY,
Persuade your Dad NOT TO PAY.
By paying you only fund their business to extort money from others,
SIMPLY IGNORE THEIR THREATS.................. eventually they give up.
There is no legal reason to pay this demand.

Do Not Pay- and Do Not Pay.

See above as to why.

It would be better to start your own thread to receive support.
Post up as much detail as you can, without identifying yourself
eg Store,
value of items items involved & , were they recovered in saleable condition?
how you were dealt with by store security,
were police involved,

Re: RLP civil recovery. Caught shoplifting. Help please

It usually helps to have your own thread on the forum so that more details can be made available.
If the police were not involved then there is no problem,
Even if the police were involved then is no action was taken by them then no problem.
If letter from RLP with big scary red letters then just ignore them, keep them but ignore.

Unhappy1 - is everything okay with you ? well, and anyone else of this thread.... as the RLP issue doesn't come to a resounding victory we tend not to hear back from people, so rather than just assume everythings okay and you've not come back on as you've just not heard anything else, thought I'd check .... as it helps others to know that it works out okay in the end ( or doesn't if thats the case ) I know we're two years along so hopefully the issues done dusted forgotten etc.
