  • Phone company contract lies

Hi there, I was wondering if I could have some advice.

I I am recently out of contract on my mobile phone, so I've been recieving lots of cold calls from companies trying to sell me stuff.

One company, acting under the name of Carphone warehouse, but turns out to actually be E2Save or something called me and offered me a deal I was happy with.

In short, the value of the phone I was sent turned out to be less than half of what I was told on the phone. I had no use for the phone as I plan to buy the handset I want outright.

I phoned them them up to complain and whilst on the phone to them they were clearly trying to get me to agree to a replacement handset so they had that recorded etc whilst they listened back to the original call that I agreed to the terms on. I said I would be happy if they sent me a phone of the value that was stated and they dealt with the 'cash back' deal that they had offered me as an apology for being lied to

im quite annoyed about this, I'm sure that they trick a lot of people with this technique.

What i would like to know, if possible, is 1. What my options are. 2. How naughty they have actually been and should I report them to some authority and 3 What are my chances of getting them to do what I want

    tbanks in advance.
