  • Cabot/Mortimer Clarke - help needed

Hi can anybody help as i do not know what to do. I have received a letter from the above asking me to provide financial information or pay up else they will take me to court. I am single mother with a 6yrs old in rented accomodation. This was a credit card debt with Citi Financial. THey now say i owe £743.66. I cannot pay this. I have been out of work since june 2008 until recently but i get dla and in debt up to my neck with no family to help and i still live in extreme pain 24/7 with M.E. CFS and chronic Fybromyalgia plus 2 degenerated discs so although i have gone back to work in past few mths i have to rest every nite from 7pm and all wkend to manage pain and exhaustion. Anything i have left of monetary value is in the pawnshop. The last correspondence they had was from Citizens Advice Bureau (to CITI) stating all this and no payment or correspondence from me in any way has been made since.

What do I do? Do I ignore this threat or do I contact them. I have lots of other debts from when the company i worked for went down all credit cards, i lost my house, my sons twin died and i was wheelchair bound for 3yrs. I have really tried to take this job so i can buy food etc and pay rent and now on top i have to pay after school club and holiday club so i am not much better off. I pay £1 to 2 other ccj's and in the next 2 months i will lose the assistance towards child care too so will be in a worse position. The stress makes my conditions worse and i just do not know what to do.

if anybody could help me and advise i would be really grateful.

    many thanks TDP1412

Re: Cabot/Mortimer Clarke - received letter of court proceedings

    Hi welcome to LB.
It appears to me that you should be classed as a " vulnerable" person in which case Cabot should take a step back.

Is this the first contact from Cabot/ Mortimer Clark?
    When was this account opened?
    When was the account defaulted?
Have you made an Income & Expenditure Statement
When was the last payment made?
