Solicitor Needed Manchesr area - recommendations please?

Hi all

I need a recommendationplease. Does anyone know of a good solicitor in the Manchester area that couldhelp with an appeal on a statute barred overdraft debt.

There is also an element ofbank charges in the balance so basically anyone who specialises in banking andthat sort of thing? Obviously I would love Mr Forster- Burnell’s team but youare all too far away from me.

Hello Ocelot,
Is this an appeal from a case in the County Court?
What was the problem in regard to the debt being SB?

I'm sure someone may know of a law firm in your area.

Hi there

It was a small claims matter so yes County Court. Limitation was extended due to a credit to the cuurent account being deemed as 'part payment' by me (not paid by me or anyone acting for me). Judge didn't ask for any proof that the payment came from me and just said it must have as it was my account and gave judgement against me.

A business refunded something direct to my account without my knowledge or authorisation to do so. I had already told them the account was closed and given them my new bank details. Turns out the account wasn't closed.

There is I think then proof that the payment was out of your control and was " mistakenly" applied to the account.
If you have the paper work on that payment and can show that the account was already closed at that point and new details had been provided to the company making the payment, you have no reason to know or believe the payment would go to a closed account.

Exactly my point, however thejudge was having none of it.

Any ideas of anyone who couldhelp me with this? And yes I have get the paperwork.

Thing is though the account wasn't closed but I didn't know it wasn't.
