  • Cancelling a Warrant of Control

    Hello
My business was issued with a Warrant of Control in December by DBS Group. We have met the terms of the Warrant in full, however DBS refuses to cancel the Warrant. I would like advise on what I can do.

By way of background, we made the final payment to DBS via cheque on 15/1/15. The company took two weeks to present this to their bank (30/1/15). The funds have been debited. I have asked DBS to confirm removal of the Warrant but they refuse to do this until at least 12/2/15 until they have 'official clearance' of the cheque.

My view is that DBS is deliberately delaying and prolonging the process, which obviously has an adverse effect on my business. From payment of the cheque to the earliest cancellation date will be 1 month.

Is there a best practice time scale for removing the Warrant after payment? If so, what redress do I have?

    Many thanks.

I have previously posted here for advice and been extremely pleased with the quick and effective response. It is a superb resource.
