  • Re: Parking eye charge

    Hi

I too have just received a letter from parking eye – bang before Christmas!

I parked in a retail ‘free’ car park and visited most of the shops during my stay.
Their (PE) claim is that I overstayed the 2hrs max by 15 minutes. I was in Lidl doing a big shop and I still have the till receipt which is time stamped 12:14:45. The expiry time on my parking was 12:05:51 and after walking back to my car, unloading my trolley and returning the trolley to the allocated bay the camera recorded me leaving at 12:21:48. So an over stay of appx 16mins!!

Lidl was very busy being a Saturday lunchtime leading up to Christmas and I was in the till queue for some time before being served. There was a hold up with the customer at the front of the queue whilst the assistant was trying to resolve some query for her. All in all my visit to Lidl took longer than I had expected which resulted in my late exit.

I have found several threads where appeals have been won and would really appreciate some help with putting a letter together – to PE as they should be the first contact. The only template thread I have found says not to use this one for appeals after the 20th Oct. (not sure which year).

    thanks

    Re: Parking eye charge

    Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver, whom i am under no statutory obligation to name, was a customer of the store (see attached copy of receipt) and was also not parked for the duration claimed as they had to drive around a very busy car park to find a space. In any event your charges are penal and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

    Yours etc

Should you get a popla code please come back for more advice.
