OK GUYS HERE GOES- a couple of weeks ago typing "renew my passport" or "I need a new passport" into Google brought up BPS- You know it did because like me you hit the link and got ripped!! Well, I hit Trading Standards, I hit the ASA, I hit the Police and Nominet (the people who control domain names) and finally I hit Parliament with a letter saying- "If you want the British People to use computers and smartphones and tablets to save YOU money then wise up- The .GOVs NEED to be at the top of search ranks. Now I have a letter back from HMPO and Parliament saying "WE ARE LISTENING AND DOING"!
I specialise in SEO so tonight I typed in British Passport Services and their they are half way down the page! .GOV being right at the top. Google wants its customers to know they can trust their customers so the most trustworthy sites MUST be at the top!
Hopefully now less people will be sucked in to believing they are on HMPO or another government site- The same applies with Driving Licences.
Finally the authorities are listening and .GOV rules Google. If we cannot shut these companies down legally then maybe we can strangle their blood money- case closed!

      Hi all

Quick one where do you find that info that Mr Howard has won that many cases? You are saying this is just on his website right?

Still not worried. Just utterly fascinated by the entire process. Interestingly it seems taking some of us to court has brought him much worse publicity and probably cost him business. If he had just kept on taking the 117 pounds from people who DID pay and not tried to sue the people who didn't he would not have had this recent negative publicity and the public would still not be aware his site was bogus.

Can't help but think that once these cases go through the courts and we win or he withdraws the game is up.

Which makes me think that now all this has blown up he HAS to go to court. He has to follow this through , if he wins this will never end. He has to win. His entire house of cards now rests on this. If he loses we will post the judgments the press will know and every consumer web site in the UK that has a forum will mention our victory. So the next person like me, who logs on to a site like this for advice will be told don't worry Aviduser, we saw off this moron you have nothing to fear.

      No pressure.

Yep, no pressure lol...thanks Avid xx

Just a note on those judgment - NO CASE HAS BEEN HEARD IN COURT.... they are all DEFAULT judgments.

The Mr Townsend case was ALSO BY DEFAULT because Mr Townsend didn't return his directions questionnaire and got struck out.

The actual case was not looked at.

My own personal view is that he won't follow through and won't show up in court.

Firstly although he's scum he's not stupid enough to realize he doesn't have much hope of convincing a judge that he has a legitimate claim in law.

Secondly it simply doesn't make economic sense for him or someone he appoints to take days out traveling the country in the (not much) hope of winning a claim worth a couple of hundred quid.

His business model is a numbers game that begins and ends with bullying and intimidation.

Who is the furthest on and more likely to get a court hearing date if he doesn't back down? If possible I would be willing to come and show my support at the hearing, unity in numbers. It would be amazing if we could all go and face him and invite the press. There should be more of this on the news then people would be more aware and less likely to fall victim.

Must have done a bulk TS press release for all the area TS's to put out. Doesn't go into much detail does it - still helps get the message out to be aware of scams.

Well, could be anywhere in the country really, currently there's hearings booked in May in North Wales and South Devon.... but other courts have allocation and waiting for hearing dates now, so it's going to be a play it by ear, who comes up first, where it is and we won't really know if it is going ahead till at the most 7 days before.... and then he can just not bother showing up on the day.....

It's unfortunately not about him being scum. He may well think he has a legitimate contract and he may well delude himself into actually believing his own nonsense.
He could well turn up for a couple of these as he genuinely believes he's been done wrong. I really hope he does. He needs his claim unpicking in front of him. It will in a way strip this delusion away and could be the most damaging part of the whole thing to him. I know the Mail comments on his business acumen however, thats akin to saying Walter White( Breaking Bad) has a head for business.Using a skill in an immoral way isn't the essence of good business. Anyone can cross the line of the law.

We record all calls received and should you believe that you were charged the incorrect amount or if you have a dispute in regards to this transaction we can investigate the transaction by listening to the call between yourself and our agent. Our agents make it clear on all calls what service the customer is paying for, that we are not affiliated with Her Majesties Passport Office and that charges are non-refundable however if you do have proof that our agent did not provide the above and you were mislead then we can provide a refund for the full amount paid. If our agent followed the procedure correctly and you received the service you required then we are unable to provide a refund.
Maybe people who originally went via the phone number could do a subject access request for a copy of the call recording.

I'd quite like to do some full SAR's on him anyway - but they do have 40 days to respond and theres not really any consequence for not providing info - possibly slap on wrist by ICO.... Still be interesting to see what he does.

Would cost a tenner, and I am loathe to recommend anyone sends him any money.

Hi all from a newbie. Have been suffering texts emails letters etc from these guys for about seven months now which I have ignored up till now
Yesterday I received a claim form (which appears to be from a court) detailing a claim for £172.60 and a £25 court fee.
I have read loads on here this morning but am off on hols for ten days in the morning so am getting a bit desperate on what my next move should be.
Any advice on my next step would be much appreciated?
                          Regards

I presume the advice is that same as posted to another new victim today

email the claim and other documents you have etc to admin@legalbeagles.info with username in email subject

and can start to get things sorted from there.

In addition to what Nibbler said your first step is to acknowledge the claim, preferably before you go away.

If you've not already read it here's a step by step guide on what to do http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...455#post522455
