  • DVLA / Marston and HM Court Services

    Hi,
I am having an issue with the DVLA for a car I used to own being untaxed in 2008. I won't go into the very long story (unless it is needed of course), but the advice I would be very grateful for is how I obtain a copy of something from the police and also from the court.
In December 2006 I was arrested and as part of that arrest my car was seized and taken away, I then had a confiscation issued against me and the vehicle was sold at police Auction in 2008. I was in custody from 2006 until 2011, and signed the car and a watch over to the financial person that came to see me in early 2008.
I am now being pursued for the car not being taxed after this date in 2008.
I am trying to gather evidence firstly that when I was arrested the car was taken from me, so if anyone could please tell me how I go about getting this information from the police?
Also I have a copy of my confiscation order but I have been told I need a copy of the financial statement when the person came to see me in custody the S16? My orginal solicitor is in Manchester (I am in London) and they are being very slow to respond, is there any other way I can get a copy of this and if so where from?
I have been granted a stat declaration and I have a hearing on 17th December so desperately trying to gather as much info as I can.
I realise this is a slightly odd post, but I would really really apprecaite any guidance anyone could help me with.
    Thank you - Penny.

Can I also add something; Marstons attended my address on 6th November and after a very traumatic experience I paid the £560 they were demanding, how do I claim this back assuming that I can prove I had nothing to do with the vehicle?

    Thank you so much.
