  • jacobs council tax

Just had a bailiff on the doorstep regarding this years council tax, my partner offered to pay £30 a week which she flat refused and said she is coming back tomorrow to take the car, we have also made an online payment directly to the council and are currently waiting for a call back. What else can we do? Thanks.

    Hi

Email the council collections and recover department, make it for the attentnion of the collections and recovery manager.

In the email, put to them your full curcs, tell them that you offered the baillifs £ 30 pw but was reffused. Also state that the baillifs said they was cvomming back for your carr and you fell this was just to increase there fees.

State that if the baillifs take further action without full consideration of your offer, you wish to make a formal complaint in relation to there actions. Tell them, that you will commence making the £ 30 pw payment direct into there bank account ( the councils, its on the back of your CT bill )

Giove them some detyails of your income and expenditure.

Then, email the baillifs office, with a similar email.

Tell them that your offer of 30 pw is all you can afford and you feel intimidated by there actions, specificaly , flatly refusing you and comming back for your car.

State that yopur considering makeing a formal complaint to the council and regulators over there refusale to even consider your curcumstances. State that you consider the baillifs just reffused your offer, so they could add more charges to your account.

Once both emails are sent, ring them both to confirm they have recived them, do this before the baillif turns up.

The baillif may have the right to start taking action on your car, so dont ignore it, but, they should have done more about your offer, so make sure you state everything in writing.

Do you need your car for work, if so, state that to them. Do you have kids, again, if so, make it clear in the letter
crazy council ( as in local council,NELC ) as a member of the public, i don't get mad, i get even
