  • London Parking Solutions - PCN through post

    Hi everyone,

I have received a Parking Fine for allegedly parking in an area where there was "No Parking allowed at any time", and apparently a parking notice was placed on my vehicle. The company issuing the fine is "London Parking Solutions".

I've read into a few threads of the web about the company, and it sounds like they are one of these joke companies that try to scare people into paying for something they don't owe.

I was in the vehicle at all times, parked outside of the area where no parking was allowed. Being in the vehicle at all times, I'm sure I would have noticed if someone put a PCN on my vehicle, however there wasn't anyone about.

Accordingly, I've now received a letter demanding that I pay £100.

I have appealed the notice, and have mentioned the above, and have asked for proof that a notice was put on my vehicle, however I'm yet to hear anything back.

I have checked this company on the British Parking Association website, and they do not appear.

Have I done everything correctly? Are there any points I need to consider?

Any help, advice or support would be brilliant.

    Cheers,

    Jamie.

When you appealed, did you ask them to provide a popla code if they reject it?

I didn't. What's a POPLA Code? Do they have to provide this? Or does this only have to be supplied if I request it?

A popla code is so that you can appeal to popla after the parking company rejects your appeal (http://www.popla.org.uk/makinganappeal.htm) I'm not sure if you actually have to request a code, or if they just supply one, but it might be an idea to write to them asking for one if they reject your appeal
Have a look at the PARKING PRANKSTER's page for a better explanation

Cheers for your reply, I'll have a look now

Fyi, I've received the attached images from the company.

Not being funny, but I can take a photo of someone's vehicle, and a photo of a parking notice on a wall and try claim they owe me money. There's no pictures showing my vehicle against the sign, I always park so I'm not near them. Also, I was in the van, surely that makes me waiting, not parked?

I'd agree ... the photos show you sat in the van and there don't seem to be any signs there (I can't see a wall near where you're parked) ... if they're saying they placed a ticket on your windscreen then how did they do it?? Are they invisible

That's streetview of where I was parked. The green fence you can see in the images goes all the way up the verge I'm parked on.
The visible only parking signs on display on were the green gates behind me, referring the car park through them .

I'd like to know how and where the ticket ended up, considering I was sat there all along.

                Hi and welcome
London Parking Solutions are not members of BPA, but of the Independent Parking Committee.

When LPS reject your claim, return here and post up your PCN, appeal and rejection letter.
We can help you draft your appeal to IPC

According to their website you are correct however according to the sign they are BPA. They may have switched recently. I'd call the BPA and ask when their membership ceased. A BPA ticket is a doddle. An IPC ticket is awkward for appeals.

Re: London Parking Solutions - PCN through post

London Parking Solutions joined IPC 25/03/2014 (according to IPC website)
Which means their signage is wrong, and therefore misleading as the terms of BPA AOS are supposedly incorporated in any contract that may be struck between parker and PPC.

Just a quick one, do they have a certain timeframe to accept or reject the appeal? I've not received anything from them for over week now? I'm not going to call them on their premium rate number lol

35 days but they can write to you and tell you it'll be longer.

Ahh, just checked the LPS website, they've rejected the appeal.

As I'm not the registered keeper of the vehicle, it'll be the boss that gets the letter. I'll post it up when I get it.
