  • JUst a Rant

I need to get this off my chest before it drages me down any further .
As those of you who have rread my posts before know I am the carer for my disabled wife have an adult son living at home and run the place as an HMO . Now to add that I have taken on a cleanong job for four hourss a week , got sciatica , and my son has now been diagnosed with anxiety and depression . It never rains but it pours.
Some days I just want to give and hide under the duvet but with work and three dogs it's simply not an option .

Rant over . Time for my medicine . A nice hot cup of tea and some biccies. I#ll economise on all sorts of things but not tea.

Get it off yer chest afore it festers, I sincerely hope you are getting all the help etc you are entitled to.
Do not give up the little job that's a little bit of freedom from caring , may sound silly, but it's true. Also the dogs, although they may seem tying and something you maybe could do without now and then, as an animal lover I know they give a lot more than they take and they will love you unconditionally.
Be there for your son as I know you will and try be one step ahead re his condition.
Get some good dunkin biccies and a nice big mug of tea if that's what cheers you up and stay strong.

                  Re: JUst a Rant

I like to rant at times to make myself feel better. Ranting is a better option than having to keep it all in. I think it's a good stress reliever that we need especially on hard times.

Thank you ALL, feel better today. Your support stopped me turning to an old standby alcohol which leads nowhere good. I nomally stick to 1 beer but was feeling like a Gin . I have trouble wth gin , one is not enough and two is too many. So big choice today hobnobs or chocdigestives? Lol

You can not dunk a chodigestive it's just not done lol.

A great big mug wide enough to take a full Rich Tea making sure not to dip yer fingers in at same time works wonders.

Pleased your feeling better and well done for resisting temptation x

                        Re: JUst a Rant

Me back again . Had the council jobsworth round at the start of December and wanted a whole load of jobs done. Then tells me two of my rooms are two small to use as bedrooms. Yet the previous occasion of a visit in 2011 there was no mention of room sizes being a problem . I was then told that every room had to have fire door despite the existing doors having been ok on the previous visit I asked why he did this and got the answer "because I said so" . Also I've just got a bill for £540 for the unnecessary order. He also wants fire alarms in every room . I would have appealed but didn't have 500 for the appeal and now i can't afford the bill.

Minimum room size for a single bedroom is 6.5m2 assuming there is separate living and cooking space available elsewhere in the property. If not it is 10.2m2.

apparently ... - best place to find about HMO rules is landlord zone

What was the £540 bill for?

enforcement notices to stop me using the rooms rather than just sking. s to the min sizes there is case law in both directions as the sizes are advisory not statutory.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through the past few months ago. How are you dealing with things now? I'm hoping everything's starting to get better for you and your family. It's good to rant from time to time too. I do that at times to get the frustrations and anger out of my chest and it never fails to make me feel a bit better afterwards.
