I spoke to (Raj the guy that came out to house to to tell me about the course and signed up with) and he said he'll get on to them but be patiant cos it can take 4 to 5 weeks. I really want to cancel but don't know if I can now as it states I've got 14 day to cancel. Please please please help

You've probably answered your own question, the contract specified a period within which you could cancel, that period has passed.

You can''t general cancel a contract simply because you've changed your mind,,

Hi @Moz .... from what I can make out, the 14day cancellation period should start from when you get the paperwork.

To cancel you need to (apparently) complete a slip at the bottom of the paperwork the salesman left you and send it (recorded delivery recommended) to Trades Gateway.

Did the Advisor leave you a copy of the pre contract credit agreement ?

Do you know which finance company you have been signed up with??

Hi
I'm Lukas
I've the same problem. I signed up on a welding course. But after a month I changed my job. I'm twice busy then before and I can't continue course. Of course I passed 14 days period. And also I will move to other city soon and then I can't continue at all. What to do now? Is any chance to cancel it ?

Hi mikle_lukas - welcome to LB
Firstly, I'd suggest you wrote to Trades Gateway and asked them if there is any chance you can cancel the course ... If you can prove that there is no way you will be able to complete the course now, they might agree to cancel it (and return any excess fees to the finance company). On the other hand, they might allow for you to 'take a break' from the course, and return to it later. Please don't just cancel your DD and stop paying for it tho' - as you may end up in court for non-payment

Keep everything in writing, and send letters recorded/signed for as proof of posting and delivery :tinysmile_twink_t2:
