  • Help with CCJ and letter from court

    Hi everyone.

For the past few years I have been battling with my local authority against a claim they had overpaid me whilst I was employed by them in 2008.
It has been a battle, I have written letters, etc., but they could not provide proof of the debt. In fact, when I pointed out an error in something they went and got a variation on the CCJ still not admitting they had made a mistake.
After a letter to the chief executive they said it would be looked into.

Today I have received a letter from the court saying:

Upon reading a letter from the Claimant (my old local authority employer who took the CCJ out)

    IT IS ORERED THAT

    1. Application Dismissed.

Does this mean that the local authority have asked for the ccj to be removed and the court has said no!!!

    Totally Confused

Well it means whatever the application was for has been chucked out.

You'll need to ask the Claimant or the Court for a copy of the letter or application, otherwise it'd just be guess work. You could ring the court and ask the current status of the claim.

How did they get the CCJ in the first place - did you not know about the claim?
